Celebrating Outstanding GCSE Results!

We are delighted and proud of our GCSE cohort who have been greeted by even more exceptional GCSE results than last year’s.  Academically strong – and building on its Sixth Form’s spectacular achievement last week in which more than a quarter of all its A Level entries received the highest possible A* grade – this year’s GCSE candidates are waking up to a set of truly stellar results --- with nearly a third of the results at the top possible Grade 9 (30%) and 70% achieving Grades 9 to 7.

Not only are the very top grades up year-on-year, but the ‘gold standard’ of Grades 9 to 7 once again rose to an impressive 70%.

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

  • Grade 9 results have risen from 26.6% to 30%.
  • Grades 9-8 results increased from 49% to 51%.
  • Grades 9-7 results climbed from 67% to 70%.
  • A remarkable 93% of Art & Photography pupils earned Grades 9-7.
  • For the second consecutive year, an Immanuel College pupil, Keren Akerman, has achieved a top national mark in Art (Photography), earning special recognition from the Examination Board.
  • In Mathematics, 79% of pupils achieved Grades 9-7, a significant rise from last year’s 67%.
  • Religious Studies also saw impressive gains, with 52% of pupils attaining Grade 9, up from 40% in 2023.
  • Seven pupils achieved eight or more GCSEs at Grade 9.
  • Looking across the cohort, the average GCSE score in 2024 was 7.2. Overall, 97% of all grades were passes (Grades 9-4).

CELEBRATING CREATIVITY AND INDEPENDENT THINKING

Immanuel College’s commitment to creativity shines through again. For the second consecutive year, an Immanuel College GCSE Photography pupil, Keren Akerman, received one of the highest marks nationally in Photography and was sent special congratulations by the exam board. (Last year Eva Lobb achieved the same rare distinction.)  Across the board, 93% of the school’s Visual Arts (Photography) candidates achieved top grades (9-7). The school is also currently shortlisted for Independent School of the Year for Excellence in Performing Arts.
