IMMANUEL COLLEGE BUCKS THE NATIONAL TREND WITH STELLAR RESULTS
- 26% of grades attained were A*, up from 14% in 2023
- 60% A*-A or equivalent at A-Level/BTEC
- A* grades increased by 11 percentage points from 2023 against a 0.4 percentage point national average increase
- More than 10% of the year group achieved 3 or more A* grades at A-Level (or BTEC equivalent)

- 100 % of Immanuel College’s EPQs achieve top possible marks A*-A, with 78% at A*

- 83% of students who applied to university have secured their first-choice destination
- 78% of those who applied to university secured Russell Group or Top 20 universities

Immanuel College is proud to announce excellent A-Level and BTEC results for the Class of 2024, reflecting significant academic achievement across the board. They excelled with an impressive 26% of grades attained at A*, up from 14% in 2023. A* grades increased by 11 percentage points from 2023 against a 0.4 percentage point national average increase.
Immanuel College achieved 59% A*-A grades. The results have outperformed every sector nationally, with averages of 49% for the private sector, 41% for selective grammar schools, 27% for academies and 22% for comprehensive schools.
More than 10% of students attained three or more A* grades (or BTEC equivalent). So many students performed exceptionally well including our top-performing student Jacob Kenley who achieved 4 A*s and will be proceeding to Imperial College London to study Mechanical Engineering.
DESTINATIONS SECURED
The success of our students is further highlighted by their university placements. 83% of Immanuel College UCAS applicants have secured their first-choice destination. Notably, three of our top achievers will be pursuing Mechanical Engineering at prestigious institutions such as Imperial College London and Bristol. Additionally, numerous students will be attending Russell Group universities, including several headed to the University of Bristol, Leeds and Birmingham for degrees such as English, History, Business/Finance, Languages and Fashion.
MAGNIFICENT MATHS MARKS
Maths continues to be a strong suit at Immanuel College. 47% of A-Level Maths students achieved an A*, while a remarkable 100% of Further Maths students earned A*-A grades.
ECONOMIC EDGE
Our Economics department celebrated stand-out success, with 42% of students securing the top A* score.
INDEPENDENT THINKERS INSPIRE
Twenty-three students went above and beyond their A-Level studies by completing the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), all of whom achieved top marks. An impressive 78% of these students attained an A*, demonstrating their dedication and capability in independent research and critical thinking.

IMMANUEL COLLEGE GCSE RESULTS CLIMB EVEN HIGHER WITH GRADES 9-7 AT 69%
IMMANUEL COLLEGE STUDENT IS AWARDED BEST MARKS IN THE COUNTRY FOR PHOTOGRAPHY & SPECIAL COMMENDATION FROM EXAM BOARD.
This morning students at Immanuel College -- the UK’s only 4 to 18 mainstream Jewish independent school - were greeted by even more exceptional GCSE results than last year’s. Academically strong – and building on its Sixth Form’s spectacular achievement last week in which more than a quarter of all its A Level entries received the highest possible A* grade – this year’s GCSE candidates are waking up to a set of truly stellar results --- with nearly a third of the results at the top possible Grade 9 (29%) and 69% achieving Grades 9 to 7.
Not only are the very top grades up year-on-year, but the ‘gold standard’ of Grades 9 to 7 once again rose to an impressive 69%.
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
- Grade 9 results have risen from 26.6% to 28.6%.
- Grades 9-8 results increased from 49% to 50%.
- Grades 9-7 results climbed from 67% to 70%.
- A remarkable 93% of Art & Photography pupils earned Grades 9-7.
- For the second consecutive year, an Immanuel College pupil, Keren Akerman, has achieved a top national mark in Art (Photography), earning special recognition from the Examination Board.
- In Mathematics, 79% of pupils achieved Grades 9-7, a significant rise from last year’s 67%.
- Religious Studies also saw impressive gains, with 51% of pupils attaining Grade 9, up from 40% in 2023.
- Seven pupils achieved eight or more GCSEs at Grade 9.
- Looking across the cohort, the average GCSE score in 2024 was 7.2. Overall, 96.5% of all grades were passes (Grades 9-4).

These outstanding results – with nearly 70% of grades 9 to 7 – highlight the importance of Immanuel College’s expert pastoral care and individualised attention, which play a crucial role in all pupil successes. Our supportive environment contributes to the impressive outcomes across the board and shines through this year in diverse subjects including Mathematics – in which 79% of pupils achieved Grades 9-7 – and in Religious Studies – with 51% securing Grade 9 – along with the splendid results in Art (93% Grades 9-7). Immanuel College’s Assistant Head of Jewish Education was also shortlisted by TES for Subject Lead of the Year.
CELEBRATING CREATIVITY AND INDEPENDENT THINKING
Immanuel College’s commitment to creativity shines through again. For the second consecutive year, an Immanuel College GCSE Photography pupil, Keren Akerman, received one of the highest marks nationally in Photography and was sent special congratulations by the exam board. (Last year Eva Lobb achieved the same rare distinction.) Across the board, 93% of the school’s Visual Arts (Photography) candidates achieved top grades (9-7). The school is also currently shortlisted for Independent School of the Year for Excellence in Performing Arts.
