Tuesday 10 June 2025 Miss Rich Named as Team GB Flag Bearer at the Maccabiah Games We are proud to announce that Miss Rich (Class of ‘21 and PE staff member) and 16 of our students will be representing Great Britain at the upcoming Maccabiah and JCC Games this summer.Miss Rich has not only been named the captain of the Open Netball squad but has also been selected as one of the Flag Bearers for the Games, carrying the GB Banner. Miss Rich says:“I am so excited for the Games this year and to be representing my country for the third time as athlete. I am even more honoured to have been chosen as both Netball Captain and Flag Bearer for Team GB. Especially now, it feels more important than ever for Jews around the world to come together over a shared passion. Thursday 22 May 2025 Immanuel College Compete in First Athletics Event of the Term We kicked this term off with over 30 pupils competing in our first ever Athletics Event. Collectively, students participated in 16 disciplines, including a number of runs, jumps and throws. Outstanding performers include Eli P, Josh B, Tori K and Livia K, who all excelled in their respective events. Thursday 22 May 2025 Year 9 Yad B'Yad Programme Over the past three weeks, our Yad B’Yad programme has been an incredible journey of learning, giving, and community. Students engaged in a series of workshops, where they learned about a variety of charities, visited different locations, and contributed in meaningful ways—whether by helping, packing, or offering their time and energy. Through these experiences, they explored what it truly means to be a giver. The programme culminated today with a special workshop led by Rabbi Levi Goldrab from Achisomoch, deepening our understanding of the importance of tzedakah and chessed in Jewish life. A huge thank you to everyone who made this programme so impactful and inspiring for all involved and especially our amazing Year 9 cohort!

Wednesday 21 May 2025 Year 7 Celebrate Lag Ba'omer Year 7 enjoyed a special Lag Ba'omer day out, where they were privileged to hear from IC alumnus Joshua Feldman speaking about his challenges of being deaf, inspiring others to embrace their challenges, and his journey towards playing for the England deaf international football team.

Monday 19 May 2025 Alumna Sabrina Miller Joins our IC6 Careers Programme! We were thrilled to welcome back alumna Sabrina Miller this morning for an inspiring careers assembly. A former Immanuel College student with a passion for journalism, Sabrina has built a successful career at the Daily Mail and was named Young Journalist of the Year in 2023.During her talk, she shared her journey from Immanuel College to the University of Bristol, reflecting on how her experiences helped shape her professional path. She spoke candidly about the challenges and opportunities she has faced while pursuing a career in media, offering students valuable insights into the world of modern journalism.Students were particularly engaged by her compelling stories of undercover investigations and war reporting, which highlighted the courage, curiosity, and integrity required in her field.We are incredibly proud of Sabrina and all that she has achieved, and we look forward to seeing what she does next.

Friday 16 May 2025 Immanuel College Welcomes Back Alumnus Bertie Green Former Head Boy of Immanuel College, Bertie Green, came back to school on Thursday to speak to pupils and teachers about what he is now doing in the world of music. Having graduated from Oxford, his passion for music was so strong that he became a full-time musician, singer and songwriter. Bertie will be taking to the stage at Glastonbury in June.Whilst at the College, he played and sang some of his own compositions to some of our Music students, who were able to ask questions and find out more about Bertie's life as a musician.

Thursday 15 May 2025 Immanuel College Welcomes Miriam Peretz Immanuel College had the privilege of welcoming Miriam Peretz – a beacon of strength, faith, and resilience for the Jewish people.Having lost two sons in combat, Miriam has transformed her grief into a life of meaning and inspiration. In a special assembly for Years 9, 10 and 12, joined by parents and staff, she moved us deeply with her powerful message of hope and personal responsibility.💬 “We are not defined by the tragedies we endure, but by the way we respond to them.”In her address, she reminded our students: “It’s not up to your parents or your teachers. It’s up to YOU. Each and every one of you has the power to choose light, purpose, and leadership.”An unforgettable morning that left us all inspired.

Tuesday 13 May 2025 Cricket Season Commences for Year 9 and 10 Our Year 9 and 10 cricket teams travelled to The Reach Free School for the first match of the season. Reach Free batted first and scored 107 runs from 15 overs.Despite good performances from Zeph Q and Jacob S, the boys ended up short of the runs required. They have a chance to make amends with fixtures this week against St Margaret’s and Aldenham.

Monday 12 May 2025 Chess Club Welcomes New Coach Our IC Chess Club welcomed its new coach, Damian Lemos. Damian is an Argentine chess Grandmaster and a renowned chess coach. He achieved the title of International Master at the age of 15, and Grandmaster at the age of 19. He has won several national and international chess tournaments, including the Argentine Championship in 2014 and the Brazilian Open in 2015. He has taught thousands of students worldwide through online chess courses and YouTube videos. He will be coaching the Chess Club going forward, working with the IC Chess Team during lunch 1, and with anyone else interested in chess during lunch 2.

Friday 9 May 2025 Alumnus Alfie Joins our IC6 Careers Programme This week we were absolutely delighted to welcome back Alfie Futerman, our Head Boy from the Class of 2018, as part of our IC6 Careers Programme. Alfie returned to Immanuel College to share his inspiring journey toward becoming a lawyer, offering students valuable insights into life after school and the realities of pursuing a career in law.During his engaging talk, Alfie reflected on his time at Immanuel College and how it shaped his aspirations and work ethic. He went on to describe his academic experiences at the University of Birmingham, where he studied law and developed a deeper understanding of the legal profession. Friday 9 May 2025 Immanuel College Offers Additional Places and Bursaries to combat Jewish school’s admissions crisis. In response to the unprecedented demand for places at Jewish secondary schools which has left many families without a place at a Jewish school, Immanuel College has made additional places and significant bursary funds available for students who have not yet secured a place for the upcoming academic year.

Thursday 8 May 2025 Immanuel College Marks VE Day Immanuel College marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a British themed fish and chips lunch, followed by appropriately decorated fairy cakes! We remembered the fallen by having a 2 minute silence at midday and students learnt about the importance of today in a presentation about VE Day in Tutor time, last Friday.

Tuesday 6 May 2025 Year 11 Leavers Celebration The Year 11 Celebration Assembly took place last Friday, marking the completion of the taught element of GCSEs and Year 11 students' time in the Upper School. Wednesday 30 April 2025 Yom Hazikaron at Immanuel College Yom Hazikaron l’Chalalei Ma’arachot Israel ve’Nifgaei PeulotHa’eivah is Israel’s official Memorial Day. On Wednesday 30thApril, Immanuel College pupils and staff attended a most memorable and moving assembly to commemorate this day, remembering the soldiers and civilians who have given their lives in defence of the State of Israel, as well as the 7th October’s terror victims and hostages still being held in captivity in Gaza. The impactful assembly, prepared and organised by Mrs Sadeh-Ginzburg and Mr Levey, was led bythe Head Boy and Head Girl Joel and Annabelle. Special prayers and poems that reflected the mood of the day were beautifully recited by Year 12 students Jonah, Amalya, Shani, Estelle, Jacob, Tamara, Jessica and Mrs. Sadeh-Ginzburg and Mr. Levey. Tuesday 29 April 2025 Farewell to our Year 13 Cohort Our Year 13 cohort celebrated their time at Immanuel College with a special Leavers' Ceremony for students, parents and staff.The ceremony included presentations from Mr Endlar, Rabbi Golker, and Mrs Fahidi, the outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl, Eliav and Olivia and the Traveller's Prayer from Lella and Ryan, along with musical performances from Eliav, Amiad and the Sixth Form Band, accompanied by Mr Levey, and a Dvar Torah from Jewish Life and Learning Prefect, Amelie.Staff, students and parents came together after the ceremony for a reception, where parents and students reminisced with staff over their happy memories of their time at Immanuel.

Friday 25 April 2025 Yom HaShoah at Borehamwood and Elstree and Radlett Synagogues A Yom Hashoah commemoration took place at Radlett United Synagogue on Tuesday evening, 22 April and Borehamwood and Elstree United Synagogue on Thursday evening, 24 April. Taking part were Amiad D-L (Year 13) and Jacob T (Year 12) who both sang and Sigal N (Year 11) who played the harp. Mr Levey accompanied Amiad and Jacob on the piano, and Amiad and his mum, Debbie, on the violin in Mein Shtetle Belz and the Theme from Schindler's List. Immanuel College is proud to have been a part of these two evenings of reflection and emotion.

Wednesday 23 April 2025 Tomer Triumphs in the Jerusalem Marathon Congratulations to our fantastic Year 13 student, Tomer, who completed 10K of the Jerusalem Marathon in under an hour, raising an impressive £4,000+ for Shalva, an Israeli charity supporting individuals with disabilities.His commitment, drive, and generosity are truly inspiring. Friday 4 April 2025 IC Ski This week, a group of Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students ventured to Italy for the IC Sport Ski Trip!With plenty of snow and a wide range of slopes catering for all abilities, students and staff made many memories on the mountains and enjoyed night activities, including ice skating, challah making and karaoke.Thank you to Mr Seller and all the staff involved for organising a fantastic trip!

Tuesday 1 April 2025 Performing Arts Festival Concert Last week saw the annual IC Performing Arts Festival concert, celebrating the incredible talent of the student body.The first half of the concert was dedicated to instrumental performances, and this was following by a second half of vocal performances.Well done to everyone who performed and thank you to all our student helpers; all of whom helped in making the evening such a great success!

Sandi spoke about her life, how she rose to the various challenges that life has thrown at her and answered questions from a very engaged and inspired audience.

Friday 28 March 2025 Year 12 Geographers Visit Barry M Factory Wednesday 26th March saw the Geography department run its A-Level trip to the Barry M make-up Manufacturing site in Mill Hill. The guided tour took us from the warehouse into the production area of the factory where we witnessed make-up being made and bottled by both workers and machines. The trip tied in well with our Year 13 content which focuses on the organisation of factories.Many thanks to Mr Mero for hosting us during the visit and to Harry Mero for the idea and organisation.

Monday 24 March 2025 Immanuel College Host Sir Chief Rabbi Mirvis KBE This morning, we had the distinct honour of welcoming Sir Chief Rabbi Mirvis KBE to our school for a truly memorable and inspiring visit. His presence uplifted our students and staff alike, as he led a special Pre-Pesach assembly, delivering words of wisdom about the "foods of Pesach" and encouragement ahead of the upcoming chag.Following the assembly, the Chief Rabbi engaged in meaningful discussions with senior leadership, sharing his insights on education and Jewish life. He then met with our outstanding Beit Ambassadors and members of the Girls' Scholars Programme, commending their dedication to Torah learning and leadership within the school.We are deeply grateful for this opportunity to host the Chief Rabbi and for the inspiration he imparted to our community. A big thank you to all staff and students who contributed to making this visit so special!

Thursday 13 March 2025 Performing Arts Festival 2025 Last week, the annual Immanuel College Performing Arts Festival took place - with nearly 80 pupils taking part and many performances over two days.With 80 pupils taking part and 50 different performances over two days. Pupil performances included a wide variety of musical instruments, ranging violin, piano, guitar and drums, as well as different singing combinations of solo, duet, trio and ensemble and LAMDA.All participants were given constructive advice and feedback from independent adjudicators. A wonderfully entertaining two days, enjoyed by all who participated and all who attended! 🎬🎤🎼🎹🥁🎷🎺🎸🎻We look forward to seeing the winners of each category perform in the Performing Arts concert next week!

Thursday 6 March 2025 Immanuel College and King Solomon School (Israel) Unite in Solidarity. Immanuel College proudly hosted 130 students from King Solomon School from Israel for a meaningful day of collaboration, learning, and solidarity with Israel. The event, which brought together students from both schools, aimed to strengthen Jewish identity and express unity with the Israeli people, particularly in support of the hostages still held in captivity.

Monday 10 February 2025 Year 9 Climate Change Conference at Habs Boys' School Some of our Year 9 Geographers attended the annual Climate Conference at Habs Boys School. They started the day hearing from Professor I. Candy about his research on Climate Change. They then competed in a prestigious competition where our teams went head to head with local schools to propose possible solutions to Climate Change. We are very excited that one of our teams made it to the final three of such a heated debate!
