IC6 Jewish Life & Learning Scholarship

What is it?

Scholars will demonstrate a genuine passion for Jewish Life & Learning through active participation and meaningful contributions within the school community. This could involve taking on roles such as a BEIT Ambassador, engaging in Jewish programmes and activities, or showing leadership in key school events related to Jewish culture and traditions. Applicants are expected to provide clear examples of their involvement, reflecting their commitment to enriching the Jewish life of the school and serving as positive role models within the community.

Scholars programme

Scholars will receive additional support from the Jewish Studies team, including opportunities for extra learning and one to one chavruta sessions.. Scholars will also gain access to leadership opportunities, such as being a madrich on the Yr.7 Achdut trip and participating in enrichment trips/Shabbatons and mentorship sessions to help them grow as Jewish leaders in the school community.

Expectations

  • Scholars are expected to take a leading role in Jewish Life at the school, which includes running clubs, giving presentations, and leading year group assemblies on Jewish themes.
  • They will also play an active role in BEIT, helping organise and lead Jewish events such as the Chanukah fair, Purim celebrations, Shevet Achim, and much more.
  • Their involvement will set the tone for the vibrancy of Jewish Life at school.
