Tefillah
Tefillah is an important part of the Immanuel school day. Every morning, pupils begin by davening Shacharit and afternoon school begins with Mincha. There are different styles and approaches adopted for each year group. Different arrangements are made for tefillah on Chagim (Festivals) and on other days of special significance.
Years 7 and 8
After an introductory period during which pupils daven and layen Shacharit (the Morning Service) in groups which reflect their knowledge and previous experience of tefillah, Years 7 and 8 daven in their form groups each morning. Pupils also daven Mincha with their form groups daily.
Years 9 to 11
In Years 9 to 11 pupils choose between taking part in the School Minyan or in an abbreviated morning davening with their form group. Pupils in Years 7 to 11 daven Mincha (the Afternoon Service) daily.
