Gap Year
Many students choose to take a Gap Year between school and starting a job/ university. Some will choose a sem or yeshiva in Israel, travel, or volunteer for a charity.Below are some of the options:
Co-Ed Programmes:
UJIA Gap Year Programme
Provides information about most Gap Year programmes in Israel. Can help provide bursaries, scholarships and subsidies to help eligible families and individuals with the cost of the programme.
FZY Year Course
A popular option for many Immanuel leavers. A gap year programme which immerses participants in Israeli society and blends community volunteering, Jerusalem studies, an Israel experience, touring, hiking and fun.
Bnei Akiva Hachshara
Bnei Akiva offers two Gap Year programmes; the Torani programme offers a full term of intensive Jewish learning (boys in Yeshivot and girls in Seminaries) and periods of hadracha (leadership) training and voluntary work. The Lehava programme involves Jewish learning in a variety of forums and extended volunteering opportunities.

Midreshet Ye'ud
Midreshet Yeud is the solution for young ladies who want to make a significant contribution to Israeli society, while devoting themselves seriously to Jewish studies. Established in 1995, the Israeli Midreshet Yeud programme has since been inspiring its Israeli students to contribute to Jewish life in Israel through Torah study, spiritual growth and chessed projects. With the Midreshet Yeud Overseas programme you can give back to the State of Israel via the Sherut Leumi projects, just like Israeli girls your age do after graduating from high school.
Migdal Oz
The unique character of the Migdal Oz programme for Women is the synthesis of intense and demanding limmud Torah with the objective of developing a spiritual community of Avodat Hashem. The program is built upon a conviction that the world of Torah and limmud serves as the primary focal point from which each student can blossom and deepen her connection to Hashem. In addition to intellectual endeavors, the programme provides opportunities for students to face challenges in the spiritual realm, striving for constant effort and growth in Yirat Shamayim and commitment to Halacha.
Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim (MMY)
Following the classical style of Yeshivot, the learning at MMY revolves around chavruta study in the Bet Midrash. Through learning in this way, you will develop your skills beyond what you may think is possible. The weekly schedule is structured and organized – the textual courses all meet twice or three times per week. This ensures continuity and enables the students to develop proficiency and expertise in those areas of study.
Sha’alvim for Women
At Sha'alvim for Women students are empowered to become independent Torah learners and Torah thinkers and are prepared for a life dedicated to Torah, Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael. In a caring and warm environment infused with ruach and excitement, students develop the study habits, learning skills, and middot to shape their characters and guide them throughout their lives.
Boys' Programmes:
Yeshivat HaKotel
The Yeshiva's underlying goal is to cultivate an intimate connection to Torat Yisrael, Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael. Developing a talmid's love for learning, bond with Eretz Yisrael, and sense of responsibility towards Am Yisrael are the Yeshiva's primary objectives.
Yeshivat Netiv Aryeh
The Netiv Aryeh programme strikes the delicate balance between a challenging academic curriculum and the ultimate Israel experience. The curriculum uses both a content-based and skills based approach. We are a college promoting a parent-friendly environment catering to the needs of the individual. The programme is academically tracked with the ability to move and change levels based on personal progress.
Aish Ha'Torah Beis Medrash Programme
The Aish Ha'Torah programme features a highly structured daily schedule. Every aspect of the program has been developed to allow the hard working, conscientious student to make the very most of his time. The daily programme includes B'iyun and B'kiyus Gemara, Mishna, Mussar, and Hashkafa, and a thorough Halacha component. In addition, training in outreach theory and participation in outreach activities is an innovative element available only at Aish HaTorah.
Eretz HaTzvi
Yeshivat Eretz HaTzvi is a yeshiva dedicated to instilling in its students a committment for Avodat HaShem and a love for Torah learning coupled with a program designed to enable its students to thrive and serve as Torah committed leaders on campus and beyond.
Machon Lev – Jerusalem Institute of Technology
Machon Lev is the oldest of JCT's academic institution for men, and its vision is to enable students upon graduation, to enter industry and contribute to science and technology in Israel with high ethical Jewish standards. With this in mind, the Beit Midrash was built alongside to the academic buildings and the students are able to combine their Torah studies in the framework of a Yeshiva Gevoha, with academic studies towards a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Management.
