An Army Life
Last September, a group of Immanuel College alumni including Ronen Feiner, Sasha Stock, Yoni Nisner, Oran Gordon and Joshua Baron went to Israel to spend 9 months undertaking voluntary community work in various parts of the country. They were involved in teaching new immigrants English, helping in a nursery school, looking after the elderly and helping in the community. They also studied the country, Judaism (in yeshiva) and took part in educational tours.
Last week, some of the group graduated from the ‘Marva’ programme, in which they spent two months in an army camp learning about the life of Israeli soldiers. They also completed a training course that prepares one for life in the Israeli army.
