Independence Day
On 12th January, after having attended the Year 8 subject evening, parents were invited to the Year 8 Independent Project Exhibition. This year saw an excellent array of projects, with issues ranging from “Can Britain defend itself with the Government cutting back defence?” by Eitan Davis to “Why do bad things happen to good people?” by Gina Cesman.
There were some outstanding pieces of art work, including David Benaim’s models of a burger and salad to accompany his enquiry “Healthy food versus junk food” and a stick-man football game made by Mark Newman, whose question was “What is the best sport?’Among the more noticeable pieces were Lauren Smith’s pizza and WKD bottle, which exemplified her question of “Do adverisementts tell the truth?”, a superstitious umbrella made by Danielle Abkin, whose question was “Are superstitions real?” and an outrageously high-platformed piece of footwear by Talia Bazini, who asked “Are shoes pain or gain?"
