The View from Caldecote Towers
The view from Caldecote presently is distinctly festive. On successive days last week I attended the Junior Drama Evening, the Rose Garden Concert and Sports Day. I was struck by the pupils’ confidence at each event, but I should not have been surprised. Individual excellence raises the standard achieved by and supports less experienced and expert participants in ensemble work in music and drama. Entering an event at Sports Day earns points for the pupils’ house and is valued by ...

They were involved in teaching new immigrants English, helping in a nursery school, looking after the elderly and helping in the community. They also studied the country, Judaism (in yeshiva) and took part in educational tours.
Last week, some of the group graduated from ...

Fun In The Sun At Community Fun Run
On 23rd May, a beautiful sunny Sunday, 2000 people turned up to the Community Fun Run at Haberdashers’ Aske’s School. The aim of the day was to engender community spirit whilst also raising money for a number of worthwhile Jewish causes. Immanuel College decided to participate in the guise of Team Immanuel. Let's Get Philosophical
Through its series of weekly meetings, the Philosophy Club has continued to survey the full range of the subject. Recent meetings have looked at the problem of induction, the idea of a private language, and justifications for punishment. For half an hour every Tuesday lunchtime, students have discussed topics they might not otherwise encounter until university, in the process gaining confidence in handling abstract and challenging questions.

Rave Reviews For Junior Drama Revue
On Tuesday, 8th June pupils from Years 7-9 took part in an evening of zany comic scenes, songs and poems, with even a few “doctor doctor jokes” thrown in for good effect. The pupils involved had a great time on stage performing, the pace and level of professionalism were excellent and most importantly the audience laughed along throughout.
