The process required pupils to grind up the fruit with a special extraction mixture and then place the filtered liquid into a boiling tube. When ice cold ethanol ran down the side of the ...

Pupils Flip Over Author Visit
On Monday 19th March, Martyn Bedford, author of Flip, which is on the short list for the Immanuel College Book Award, visited the College. Pupils were fascinated to learn about Martyn’s writing career and his inspiration for his Flip, in which a fourteen year old boy wakes up to find he is in someone else’s body. Immanuel Pupils experience slavery shortly before Pesach
The guillotine: not what you’d expect to come across in an exhibition devoted to the Atlantic slave trade. But for Year 9, the History study day at the National Maritime Museum was an experience that challenged expectations. The guillotine in question was a large size replica of an original used to execute criminals, including runaway slaves, in the Carribbean. The slave trade itself was a French and British export, and students were able to see ample evidence of connections between ...
