Young Artists Display Excellence at Immanuel Art Exhibition

Talia Salomon, age 18, has been awarded the Eli and Sonia Gottlieb Art Trophy for two pieces of art entitled Chicken Heads and Mouths, beating forty-four other Immanuel College students who had been nominated for this honour which celebrates excellence in Art at the school.

Talia, who next year will take up her place at the prestigious Central St. Martins College to study an Art foundation course, received her award at an art exhibition which was held at the school in Bushey and was open to the public. The one-night only exhibition showcased art from GCSE, AS & A-Level pupils, and was attended by around 250 people from the Jewish community including staff, students and parents.

Philip Skelker, Headmaster of Immanuel College, commented: ?The creativity and resourcefulness of our pupils? work exhibited at the 8th Gottlieb Art Exhibition at Immanuel College is a joy and a wonderful tribute to them and their teachers.?

Talia Salomon, winner of the Gottlieb Cup said: ?The energy and devotion the students put into their work and the quality of teaching was made evident at tonight?s exhibition and was truly impressive. During my time at Immanuel, the Art department has become my home and I will really miss being a part of such dynamic and stimulating environment.?
