Sponsored Walk 2009 in aid of One Family
Thursday, 24th September 2009
To our relief and despite it being the middle of September, Immanuel College was blessed with sun! The date was September 24th, the event, the Immanuel College Sponsored Walk, in aid of Israeli Charity ‘One Family’. With sponsorship forms filled, lunches packed and smiles on faces we set off for Cassiobury Park. Once there, there was just one thing left to do- walk! There was so much to do including; activity stations, a treasure trail en route and the selling of mass amounts of confectionery. With sixth formers at each station and selling food, the walk was a great opportunity for both lower and upper schools to interact, have fun and get to know each other. Despite the two laps to complete there was not a frown in sight; in fact some people even did ten laps! As the day drew to a close, we all prayed Mincha, and heard from a representative of ‘One Family’. It was fascinating to hear the incredible work a charity like ‘One Family’ does- helping the relatives of those affected by terrorist acts. The Sponsored Walk was a great success and we boarded the coaches with a genuine sense of pride. The event raised £15,800.
