Singer Brady reaches finals of Emunah Young Musician of the Year

Thursday, 9th February 2012

Immanuel College pupil Brady Isaacs Pearce (Year 7) has made it to the finals of the Emunah Young Musician of the Year contest, held in conjunction with the Jewish Chronicle.  The 11-year-old singer is one of ten talented youngsters who will perform in a concert at the Royal Academy of Music. She impressed the judges with her upbeat versions of Robert Lopez’s There’s a Fine, Fine Line and Rogers & Hammerstein’s Cockeyed Optimist.

Brady was one of four Immanuel pupils who sang in the heats – Kayla Jaffe, Liat Oberlander and Georgia Barnett also took part, the latter was “highly commended.”

This is the second year for the national competition run by the charity Emunah, which cares for thousands of disadvantaged children at its projects and centres in Israel. Appropriately, the funds raised by this year’s competition will support the Lord and Lady Sacks Music Therapy Programme, which helps children who have had the most tragic lives and endured horrific experiences.

The excitement is mounting as Brady prepares to sing in front of a 300-strong audience on Sunday 4 March alongside nine other finalists, when the winner of the Emunah Young Musician of the Year 2012 will be announced.  To find out more about the charity or to book tickets, call 020 8203 6066 during office hours or email info@emunah.org.uk or visit www.emunah.org.uk
