Senior Maths Challenge

Friday, 14th December 2007

Twenty four candidates from the Immanuel College Sixth Form took part in the 2007 Maths Challenge, which attracted approximately 80,000 candidates nationally. Candidates were presented with 25 multiple choice questions designed to test their ability to think mathematically and laterally! Answering questions incorrectly leads to marks being deducted so random guessing is not a sensible option.

40% of the 80,000 candidates are awarded certificates. We are delighted that Jonathan Hoyland was awarded a silver certificate, (awarded to 13% of candidates). Bronze certificates, awarded to 20% of candidates, were awarded to James Krieger, Jeremy Abraham, Kane Alexander, Charlotte Levene and Oran Gordon. Well done to all those who took part!
