New - Psychology Society
Thursday, 10th March 2011
The first meeting of the Immanuel Psychology Society took place on 10th March and was well attended by around 30 students drawn mainly from Years 11 to 13.
Guest speaker, Dr Abigail San, talked about her role as a Clinical Psychologist. She spoke in part about the career path she took to qualify, but also about the therapies, especially cognitive behaviour therapy, she employs in the treatment of psychopathology.
Her talk was illustrated by a case study and provided a terrific and expert resource for anyone considering Psychology A Level and indeed for those considering a career in a clinical setting. The newly formed Immanuel College Psychology Society hopes that this is a fantastic beginning to what will prove a long and successful venture with many more interesting speakers soon to follow.
