Immanuel Student Wins Diana Award
Monday, 10th March 2008
Immanuel College is delighted to announce that Samantha Aaronberg, a student in the Lower Sixth form, has been chosen to receive the Diana Award.
Samantha has been chosen for the Award because of the selfless and inspirational support she has given her family and in particular her twin sister, Yvonne, over the course of the past two years. During this period, throughout which Yvonne has been suffering from protracted and painful illness, Samantha has earned the admiration of her teachers and contemporaries by combining continuous and sensitive assistance to Yvonne and her parents with participation in every area of school life. She has shouldered great responsibility quietly and well.
The Diana Award is a living legacy to the late Princess which recognises and celebrates the outstanding qualities and contributions made by many young people to their schools and communities. The Award is given to those young people who are nominated for:
? Youth participation or volunteering; or
? Selfless service to others; or
? Showing outstanding qualities in overcoming adverse circumstances.
We at Immanuel College are very proud of Samantha and held a presentation ceremony on Tuesday 29th January.
