Immanuel Rock concert

Wednesday, 23rd September 2009

As everyone gathered in the JKT the first band began playing; they played ‘7 Nation Army’ by The White Stripes. This warmed the audience up and got everyone in the room bopping their head up and down in time with the hard rock beat. Then the second band was our band. We played, and I sang, ‘Man in the Mirror’ by Michael Jackson. This had everyone waving their hands in the air. I think we played really well and the atmosphere felt like we were playing in a real rock concert, - just like in the films. The next song was ‘Use Somebody’ by The Kings of Leon. The song sounded just like the original. It was a fantastic performance and Daniel Sachon’s voice really shone. Following that was, ‘I’m Yours’, by Jason Mraz; Rafi Kennard was brilliant in singing in the reggae style. Following that they played the very difficult ‘Apache’ by The Shadows; all the unique parts played by the different instruments sounded brilliant mixed together. The concert finished with a phenomenal version of ‘Living on a Prayer’ by Bon Jovi. By the end of the song the whole hall was singing along and the audience went wild at the end.

I loved the Rock Concert as it gave us an idea of what it feels like to play to an audience, even a small one. It also gave us an opportunity to play to our friends in school who don’t usually come to the other concerts. ROCK ON!
