Immanuel Alumni volunteer on IDF bases

Thursday, 15th January 2009

British teenagers are working on eight army bases across Israel after being asked to help by the IDF in light of the current situation in Gaza. Last year?s Head Girl of Immanuel College, Dodie Levene, who is currently on her gap year at Midreshet Lindenbaum (Brovender's), volunteered for the Israel Defence Forces by helping to pack 20,000 bags of rations for the Gaza troops. Dodie told us ?the full extent of the army operation in Gaza didn?t hit me until I walked into the Warehouse. It was full to the roof with food to pack and I realised for the first time just how many soldiers were involved in the operation. It was quite frightening.?
