Immanuel College Governors announce the launch of the Immanuel College Junior School
Tuesday, 6th July 2010
The Governors of Immanuel College are pleased to announce that the official launch of the Immanuel College Junior School will take place this October. The Junior School will open in September 2011 with classes in Reception and Year 1 and then grow on a yearly basis until it has classes from Reception to Year 6. Classes will be limited in size to twenty pupils per year. A high level of demand for places is anticipated.
Dr Sara Levene, Chair of the Governing Body comments,
“The Immanuel College Junior School will offer an excellent Jewish and secular education for children aged 4 to 11. Its pupils will benefit from high standards of teaching, expert pastoral support and many opportunities to experience Jewish life in a happy and inclusive way.”
Benjamin Perl MBE comments,
I believe that there is a strong demand for several new one- form entry Jewish schools in the Hertfordshire area. A top quality private Junior School will be a welcome addition to the choices available to Jewish parents in the Hertfordshire area. I know that this new school will be successful and wish Immanuel College well in this endeavour.
Philip Skelker, Head Master of Immanuel College adds,
“The presence of Junior children in our enlarged school will provide new and exciting ways to develop the sense of community at Immanuel. Senior school pupils will have the chance to contribute to the younger pupils’ experience in areas as diverse as Sport, Art, the celebration of Chaggim and English and Hebrew reading. Younger pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 will benefit from specialist teachers in areas such as Music, the Sciences, Jewish textual learning, Physical Education, Art and Modern
languages.”
