Chanukah Concert
Monday, 30th November 2009
This year’s Chanukah concert promised much: from Liszt to Lloyd Webber and from Mendelssohn to Daniel Merryweather. Once again, our pupils showed what rich talents they have in a succession of highly polished and accomplished solos. But it was not just the individuals who performed so admirably. Our ensembles also proved that practice makes perfect as items by the choir, orchestra and chamber groups were enthusiastically received. However the highlight, as it always is at the Chanukah concert, was the spectacular finale of the Year 7 choir. Singing a medley of Chanukah songs, the youngest pupils in the school demonstrated that they too were worthy to be heard and the concert finished with the Year 7 pupils leading the singing of the two National Anthems. The next concert is “Violins of Hope” on January 28th– and we look forward to seeing you there.
