Barzilai Medical Speaker at Immanuel College

Lea Mallul, Public Affairs Director and a Spokesperson of the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon, addressed the Lower-Sixth of Immanuel College on the work undertaken by this institution. The Barzilai Medical Center is the only hospital in the Lachish region and is located in the city of Ashkelon 35 miles south of Tel-Aviv and only 6 miles from the border with Gaza. Under a constant terror threat from rockets, the hospital treats casualties from both sides of the regional conflict, civilian and military, under exceptionally difficult and exacting circumstances. The talk was very interactive with sixth-form students keen to ask questions about what steps the Israeli government was taking to reduce the terrorist threat to the medical centre. Many of the students enquired how they could help the institution.
