Art and Photography Exhibition Shows Immanuel Pupils? Skill and Expertise

For A Level and GCSE Art and Photography pupils, a highlight of the school year is the annual Art and Photography Exhibition. The event is made still more exciting by the presentation in the course of the evening of the school awards for Art and Photography and the Sonia and Eli Gottlieb Trophy and its associated prizes.
This year, the Gottlieb Trophy for A Level Art was won by Shani Joel; Gabriel Loftus was the runner up. The AS Level Art Winner was Ella Stern, and the runner up, Chloe Marlow. At GCSE, the winner was Katie Woudstra and the runner up, Gaby Brick.
The Gottlieb Award for Photography was won at A Level by Ashleigh Taylor; Rachel Gaon was the runner up. For AS Level the winner was Ella Stern and Emily Charles was the runner up.
The school’s internal awards for Art went to Jennifer Murad (Winner) and Alex Falks (runner up), for AS Art to Beth Hallowell (Winner) and Jake Chody (Runner Up) and for A Level Art to Zoe Budwig (Winner) and Shani Joel (Runner Up).
Mrs Ardeman, Head of Art reflected, “We are incredibly proud of our student’s achievements this year as they have created beautifully crafted pieces of artwork. The Art exhibition evening is a celebration of our pupil successes, shared with family and alumni. We wish our pupils every success for the future and we hope that they have fond memories of all their experiences within the art department at Immanuel.”
Miss Susan Ribeiro, Deputy Head of Art said, “It has been thrilling to assist pupils working in diverse materials, for example, sculpting with recycled objects such as shoes, dolls and tea pots. These new techniques have resulted in intricate outcomes and the quality has been exceptional.”
The school’s internal awards for Photography went to AS Level student Ella Stern (for attainment) and Laurence Leigh (for progress) and to A Level students Georgia Shane (attainment) and Zoe Budwig (for progress.)
Ms Neha Vadera, Head of Photography said, “Our students have worked endlessly to create some astounding work for their A-Level Photography. I am pleased to say that they have all done exceptionally well in the external moderation, and have received praise from two industry professionals which puts some of the work on a par with university level photography. It was a pleasure to see the pride of our students and their families when visiting the Photography Exhibition. I can wholeheartedly say that I am extremely proud of them all, and wish the A Level students the very best for their further education.”
