Art and Photography Award Winners 2009
Thursday, 9th July 2009
Olivia Baker, aged 18, was awarded the Eli and Sonia Gottlieb Trophy, which celebrates excellence in Art at the school's annual Art Department Exhibition. Olivia takes up a place on the Foundation Course at the London College of Fashion this autumn. For the first time, the Gottlieb Foundation included prizes for Photography among its awards for artistic achievement at Immanuel College. Rachel Gaon, aged 17, who is among the first group of AS-level Photography students, was the winner in this category.
The Exhibition showcased the work of GCSE, AS and A2 level Art pupils and for the first time, there was a separate Photography Exhibition.* The event was attended by some 250 people from the Jewish community, including staff, pupils and parents.
Philip Skelker, Head Master, commented: “This year’s Gottlieb Exhibition showed our pupils’ ability to communicate their individual perceptions and insight using a variety of media in a most accomplished way.”
