On Wednesday 21st November, Immanuel College Preparatory School was delighted to welcome Sir Harry Solomon to spend a morning with them. Invited by Mrs Gaffin, who is a graduate of the UJIA Ashdown Fellowship Programme for which she was interviewed by Sir Harry, he enjoyed a tour of the school during which the children shared their learning with him. In Reception, they gave him a rendition of the Aleph Bet, in Year 1 they showed him a book about life under the sea that they had written and Year 2 sang him the songs about kindness that they are preparing for the end of term show. In Key Stage 2, Years 3 and 5 impressed Sir Harry with their mathematical knowledge, Year 4 gave an insight into the area of grammar that they are learning in Jewish Studies and Year 6 gave him a whistle-stop introduction to their parties, ahead of the ICPS hustings and voting that is taking place to coincide with the forthcoming UK general election. Finally, Sir Harry met with the House Captains, who had an opportunity to tell him about their best experiences in the Prep School. It was a lovely morning that was enjoyed by all.
